115 N. Dawkins, New Brockton
The things I love about New Brockton are that it gives you a great small town feeling while still being really close to Ft. Rucker and Enterprise. It has a great local restaurant with 5 star quality food. We went there all the time to enjoy a nice glass of wine or just sit out on the patio. There is a post office, gas station, bank and store. Which provide you with everything you need within walking distance.
Our neighborhood is great for walks, going to church events and lending a helping hand. Everyone waves hello.
We LOVE to eat at Frogz. People from all over the area including, Dothan and Troy, travel to New Brockton to go to Frogz.
Grocery stores are nearby. The local store gives you all of your general household and food needs. There are 2 major chain grocery stores within a 5 minute drive.
I loved everything about the house. When I first saw my property I loved the updates the previous owners had done. Everything was done. It was move in ready. The laundry room was bright and spacious. I loved the fact that there was a fire place and extra rooms for guests, entertaining. The Master suite was FANTASTIC. It was huge and had a huge walk in closet and amazing en suite.
The Wiregrass area is wonderful. We hated to leave the house and the area. Yet, as the Army would have it, we had to move. The sense of community and fellowship is amazing. The support the area has for military families was astounding and we made some wonderful friends and memories. The hospitals in the area are great and there is no lack in any amenity you may be looking for.
A few other things I would like to mention are that New Brockton has a high school and elementary school that are both within walking distance of the house. Both are very good.
We really loved our house. We were very reluctant to leave. It was a hard decision but we had to make the move because of military obligations. It is a great family home. It is bright, warm, move in ready, modern with a hint of historic charm. It was our first home and we wish to see it go to someone who will appreciate its beauty as much as we did.
We enjoy a lot of outdoor activities and often went walking. We also went skeet shooting at Ft. Rucker (only 12 minutes away). We would take some time off to go fishing on the Pea River and on Ft. Rucker. We grilled out a lot in the fenced in back-yard. Always something to do and nothing too far away. In fact, Panama City Beach, made famous with MTV Spring Break, is only a 90 minute drive.
Our utilities were with New Brockton Water Department, Alabama Power and Time Warner. All had great service and we never had any issues with pricing. Our gas for the fireplace was with a company in Elba. The costs were much lower then some of our friends in the surrounding areas. Our average electric bill was $100 to $250. Our cable/INTERNET/phone was $85. Our water/garbage pickup/sewer was approximately $35. A very low maintenance property.
