Why I Love My Home
by the actual Owner
What do you love about the town your home is in?
The things we love about Enterprise include the lovely countryside surrounding a perfect sized community. The geography is lush and green with beautiful trees. The downtown is full of character with shops and businesses for all interests and needs. The Enterprise City School System is excellent with academic opportunities abound from preschool through Enterprise High, the 3rd largest high school in the state. Dual enrollment opportunities in rigorous academic fields and technical career paths at Enterprise State Community College are some of the options along with Advanced Placement courses to earn college credit. Enterprise is the Home of Army Aviation which contributes diversity and economic stability. Excellent public library downtown; expansive family park with playgrounds, play fountain, porch style swings, walking trails, benches, beautifully maintained foliage, large pond, tennis courts, baseball fields, soccer fields, and more. Beautiful senior center at convention center site conveniently located adjacent to the park which is just outside of town center and minutes from our home. Farmer’s market downtown, lots of recreational facilities including gyms and the Y.
If you are in a neighborhood, what great things do you do there?
Our neighborhood is great because it is a country neighborhood with expansive properties and ample distance between homes for privacy and serenity. We have the shortest of drives from town, school, friends to our home, yet the landscape transitions into relaxing sprawling country, melting away any of the stress of town life. Our neighbors are friendly and there if we need each other. We can walk the property to exercise, and the kids grew up playing in the yard including climbing trees and having adventures in the great outdoors surrounded by nature for the imagination to grow. This struck a perfect balance between being picked up and dropped off by the Enterprise City School bus right in front of our home, then after school playtime outside prior to hitting the books. Front, back, and side porch sitting while taking in the serenity of the lush landscape is our favorite way to wind down including watching birds including hummingbirds who love to visit our numerous feeders. The mature trees include a gorgeous oak tree out front and several proliferative pecan trees. Picking up the pecans as a family are some of the now grown kids’ fondest memories. Wonderful fenced portion of the property for children and animals. Super safe area.
My favorite restaurants around this home are:
We love to eat at the following restaurants:
Marco’s Pizza delivery or pick up; Panera Bread; Milky Moos ice cream and more; Corks and Cattle; The Rawls; Ruby Tuesdays; Panda Express; Ahi Poke Bowl; Brick Oven Pizza; McDonalds; All major fast food restaurants.
Grocery stores I love to shop at:
Grocery stores are plentiful with Publix, Piggly Wiggly, Walmart, and Grocery Outlet to name a few.
Key Points about the property that we were drawn to:
The absolute serenity of country life with privacy, woods, birds, calm quiet, yet 10 minutes from town (Enterprise) and a very short distance to nearby areas such as New Brockton, Troy, Ozark, Daleville and Dothan. The lush greenery, the peace and quiet, and the privacy. Sitting on the back screened in porch is our favorite, regardless of time of day or year. Morning coffee and breakfast to supper off the grill, sunrise to sunset, there we sit. We enjoy having the space and topography to enjoy working on our green thumbs with trees and other plants that thrive.
Why people should move to this area:
This location in the Wiregrass is literally 10 minutes from the back gate of Fort Rucker, the recreation park, the schools, grocery stores, pharmacies, the hospital, and downtown, making it an easy commute to area employers and businesses. We get all of the benefits of country life yet can drive down to the Florida beaches in about 2 hours. Head north and Montgomery is less than 2 hours away with its city life. Both Montgomery and Dothan have airports, maximizing travel convenience. We literally take long walks at the recreation park daily, enjoying the many amenities it has to offer including a dog park and playing tennis. Beautiful lake on Army base 10 minutes from our home.
Any great schools or other things to mention:
We honestly cannot say enough praise for this Enterprise school system and the other surrounding schools. Whether your kids are into sports or academics or anything in between, there is a niche in these schools for them with unlimited opportunities to learn, advance, and achieve. Our own children thrived in the Enterprise school system, graduating as Salutatorian and Valedictorian of their high school classes. And it is not just a cliché: folks down here in the Wiregrass are super friendly. There is a warmth that you just do not find elsewhere. People here, whether born and raised or detailed in for work, are friendly and helpful as well as accepting.
Anything else you can think of to attract a potential buyer?
We love that this is enough land to enjoy the outdoors including the tree filled woods with birds and nature surrounding us, yet it is not an overwhelming amount of upkeep, so that we enjoy our leisure time too.
What do you do for interests and hobbies near to the property?
Some of the activities that our family has enjoyed include: planting trees and other shrubbery, bird watching, hiking, cooking out, walking at the park, playing tennis, going to the movies at the new recliner theater with dining, the dinner theater downtown, the art store downtown for birthday parties and gift creating, the churches including the special one just up the road from the house, porch sitting, participating in the many fun downtown events to include music and shopping.
