I love Dothan because it is a very friendly, very safe, and very modernized town. You have all the conveniences of a big city with all the things folks love about small town living. Also Dothan is home to two major hospitals, over 300 restaurants and a tremendous school system.
Our neighborhood is awesome! The people who live here are extremely friendly, kind, caring, and generous. Our neighbors come to our house each year on Christmas Eve for a tremendous get-together. Also we help each other out in any way we can from lending our help to lending our belongings. I couldn't ask for a better neighborhood.
Dothan is home to over 300 restaurants. If you can think of it, I'm sure Dothan has it. Our favorite has to be The BBQ Shack. Also amongst our favorites are Cheddar's, La Parilla, and Things and Wings.
Dothan has its range of grocery stores, from Publix to Walmart, Winn-Dixie to so many others.
We bought our house because of its beautiful architecture. The curb appeal on our home is incredible. It is the most beautiful home I have ever seen. We couldn't believe the size of the property for being in a development. Plus the neighborhood is the nicest, cleanest, brightest, and safest.
The Dothan area has to be one of the most unique places I have ever lived. From our home you can be in a city-like environment going one way up the street and a farm-rich environment the other way. It really is the best of both worlds.
Dothan offers a wide range of school options. If you are a public school person, the public schools here a very safe and convenient. Dothan also offers a magnet school program which has been a great opportunity for our son. If private schools are more your thing, Dothan is swimming in them.
The quiet calm of our neighborhood adds to its beauty. This development is the best in the Dothan area. We have sidewalks throughout the neighborhood, a community park, and a golf course. The streams that run through the neighborhood are swimming with turtles, ducks, and geese. Our favorite has to be the multitude of fox squirrels we see on the golf course, they are so cute!
I am a very avid bicyclist and this neighborhood allows me the safety to do that. Also within a few miles of our home is the Westgate Community Center which offers so many programs all year round, to include an indoor swimming pool.
I am very impressed with the costs of our utility bills. With a family of 4, the swimming pool, and the sprinkler system our water bill runs between $50-$120/month. Our electric bill with 2 central air systems (one for downstairs and one for upstairs) runs between $150-$300/month. The house is very well insulated and holds its temperature very
