Why I Love My Home...
Enterprise Al, derives much of its patriotism from nearby Fort Rucker, the Home of Army Aviation. The town has also been named a Retiree Model City, ranking in the top 25 towns for military to retire. Discover the largest collection of Army aircraft in America at the Army Aviation Museum.
I love the Southern hospitality, downtown Enterprise is the place to go. Find shopping and dining in addition to an interactive art studio, museums and bed and breakfasts. The town prides itself on finding the perfect balance between traditional Southern charm and progress, hence the nickname, the City of Progress.
Our neighborhood is great because where you live has a way of making certain demands on how you live. In my neighborhood, the garbage collector comes on Fridays mornings, so it’s my responsibility to get our garbage can out to the curb the night before. Letting the trash and shrubs pile up on the curb for days before doesn’t make for happy neighbors. And we have lots of children playing outside, so signs are posted everywhere reminding drivers to slow down. That means I drive slowly and watch for little ones who, without looking, chase wayward balls into the street. Most of the community is retired and just want a little peace and quiet. My home is nestled in the far corner of the neighborhood and hardly any traffic. The back yard is peaceful and secluded from the back neighbors via a small stream and beautiful forest, plenty of room for young kids to grow and explore.
Food is very important to me as part of Southern hospitality and the Rawls Restaurant down town enterprise is the best! Features a regional influenced menu. Our farm-to-table culinary delights change daily to highlight the freshest, finest local products available.
Grocery stores are plentiful and convenient. As a military family, we often shop at the Commissary on Ft. Rucker since it's not too far away. In addition, there is a Super Wal-Mart near by as well as a brand new Publix within minutes from the house. There is also a Food World that's almost in our neighborhood. It's great for those last minute ingredients you've run out of. Furthermore, there are several other smaller grocery stores around town, like Winn Dixie.
My son Hunter is 6 and very active. As soon as we moved here I signed him up at the local recreation center in Enterprise. He has enjoyed all the youth sports that they offer and I have repeatedly been asked to join as an assistant coach. The community welcomed us with open arms!!
